BREAKING: West Nile Confirmed in Clay County

West Point city officials and the Mississippi Department of Health have confirmed one case of West Nile virus in West Point.
West Point Chief Administrative Officer Randy Jones said a resident in the Northwood Forest area has contracted the virus.
Citizens of West Point and Clay County are urged to drain all items around their homes that is holding standing water and use mosquito repellant with deet to protect against the virus.
City officials will continue spraying five days a week for mosquitoes as they have been over the past couple of weeks.
