Holcombe, Sykes Engagement

Mr. and Mrs. Marty Holcolmbe of West Point, are pleased to announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Ashley Holcolmbe, to Kristopher Sykes, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Sykes of Aberdeen.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Holcolmbe of West Point and Mr. and Mrs. Eddie Taylor of Steens.
She is a 2003 graduate of Oak Hill Academy, a 2005 graduate of East Mississippi Community College and a 2009 graduate of Mississippi State University.
She is currently employed with the Clay County Co-op, in West Point.

A couples shower/pre-reception will be held in honor of Clay Bailey and Jessica Robison, April 28th, at 2 p.m. at the Old Aberdeen Road Church of Christ. The couple are joining in marriage with a small ceremony at a later date and would like to include, and invite all friends and family to the pre-reception.

Ben Bennett, age 66, passed away Monday, April 16, 2012, at North Mississippi Medical Center of West Point.
Funeral services are Monday, April, 23, 2012, at 11 a.m. from Carter's Mortuary Services Chapel, with the Rev. Bobby Bowen officiating. Burial will follow in Town Creek M.B. Church Cemetery.
Visitation is Monday, April 23, 2012, from 9 a.m. until service time at Carter's Mortuary Services.
Carter's Mortuary Services is in charge of arrangements.

James Thomas Garrard Jr.

James Thomas Garrard Jr., age 81, passed away Thursday, April 19, 2012, in Hattiesburg.
James Thomas Garrard Jr., was a member of First Baptist Church of Wiggins, and transportation coordinator for Charles Evans Trucking. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Mr. Garrard was preceded in death by his parents: James Thomas Garrard Sr., and Dicye Carolyn (Gregg) Garrard; and brother, Gene Lionel Garrard.

Walter Lee Jefferson, age 54, passed away Friday, April 13, 2012, at his home.
Funeral services are Tuesday, April 24, 2012, at 11 a.m. from Old St. Peter's M.B. Church, with the Rev. Willie Foard officiating. Burial will follow in Poole's Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Visitation is Monday, April 23, 2012, from 3 – 6 p.m. at Carter's Mortuary Services Chapel.
