When I was small I was terrified of Santa Claus. I refused to go anywhere near him at the stores, even though he usually tried to entice children to sit on his lap with a candy cane.
I’m grown now and the more I think about it, the shadier this Santa character gets. First of all, little kids are told to never talk to strangers. There is no mention of unless he has a long white beard and a red suit. We were also told to never take candy from strangers. This Santa guy always has has candy and seems to defy all the rules in order to get little kids to sit on his lap. Hmmmmm.
A beautiful table setting is not complete without a centerpiece. It’s like the topping of a cake. For the Christmas season everyone wants something glitzy and different. One of my most popular items I sale during the Christmas season are Cone Trees. Many people use them as centerpieces on their table. The cone trees can be easily accented with vases filled with ornaments or either two small floral arrangements.

Hebron Christian opened up their Region 3 campaign against the region-favorite Winona Christian Thursday night. It took more than four quarters for Gary Vaughn and his Eagles and their electric fans to get by the Stars. A Troy Arnold put-back in overtime gave Hebron all they needed with a 54-52 victory.
“It was a big district win for us,” commented Coach Vaughn after the win, “I’m just real proud of them, this was a team victory.”
In the opening game of the MAIS Classification A District 3 games, Hebron Christian played host to Winona Christian on Thursday. Head Coach William Cotton was absent due to an illness, leaving the Lady Eagles under the direction of Assistant Coach MP.
The Lady Eagles stayed competitive with Winona only trailing the Lady Stars by 5 points at halftime. The second half was a different story as Hebron was unable to cope with Winona’s full court press and were routed 56-28.
On Thursday night, the Lady Wave played one of their better games of the season so far. West Point played host to Okolona and defeated the Lady Chieftains 55-39. It's been 12 years since Annie Barnes has seen her sister Jessie.
Jessie has been classified as a "Missing Person" since July 7, 2000, and she was last seen by family in the vicinity of the 800 block of Little Street in West Point.
"We call her Little Jessie because she is the baby of the four children my mother had," Barnes said.
Barnes' mother, Katie Ruth has taken the disappearance hard.
"She has been devastated ever since the day we found out "Little Jessie" had disappeared," she said.
