Eagles downed in double OT shootout, 52-50

PEARL - Hebron quarterback Will Corben-Rogers was stopped inches of the goal line in the second overtime as Park Place, who overcame a 22-6 half time deficit, held on for a 52-50 victory over the Eagles Friday night at Smith-Wills Stadium.

The Crusaders' Damon Cole rushed for a school record 311 yards and five touchdowns to lead the way for what was to be a heart stopping second half of football.

West Point opens up district play with blowout victory

Entering Friday night's road game at Lake Cormorant, West Point head football coach Chris Chambless stressed one fact to his team over and over this week in practice: It's a new season.

After struggling through a brutal non-district schedule with a 1-3 mark, the two-time defending state champions started their new season with a bang Friday night, opening Division 1-5A play with a convincing 42-14 road win over Lake Cormorant.
