Hebron Christian’s hopes of a district softball title evaporated Tuesday night as Winona Christian scored three runs in the top of the sixth inning to earn a 5-3 victory on the road and take first place into the playoffs which start this weekend.
The Lady Eagles (12-7), who already secured their fifth consecutive playoff appearance a week ago, came back from a 2-0 deficit after giving up a pair of runs in the first inning to tie the game and eventually take the lead.
“We just got out played,” Hebron head coach Cass Tapley said.
