Wofford battles man’s toughest challenge

Can you swim 1.2 miles? Ever tried biking 56-miles and then followed that with a half marathon?

For some it sounds like a grueling challenge. After all, it’s only half of an iron-man competition.

It may sound unbearable, but for one local it’s just one more challenge he wants to conquer.

Helen Lee White, age 88, passed away, Sunday, July 10, 2011, at the Sanctuary Hospice House, in Tupelo.
Helen Lee White was born Feb. 26, 1923, in Pontotoc County, Miss. to the late Estelle Whitworth and George C. Lee, Sr. She was a member of First Baptist Church of West Point.

Martha Hunt Foster, age 84, passed away, Sunday, July 10, 2011, at the Grace Living Center, Edmond, Okla.
Martha Ann Foster was born Nov. 8, 1926, in Quincy, Miss. to the late Minnie Mae Price andOtto Clyde Hunt. Mrs. Foster was a barber by trade. She was a member of the West Point Church of God and the Martha Chapter #53 Order of the Eastern Star. Martha Hunt Foster married Lee Olen Foster May 13, 1942, in Caledonia, Miss., and he preceded her in death July 8, 2009.
