The unsuspecting rain this week throughout the region put Oak Hillâ€™s summer softball games on hold, but as head coach Marion Bratton explained, it wasnâ€™t the first obstacle they needed to overcome.
The Lady Raiders were all set to play in a league with surrounding teams at the sports complex in Starkville, but after teams pulled out and decided to play close to home, Oak Hill did the same. Working with a few area teams, the group decided to do a home and home series.
A 4-County lineman is recovering in a Jackson area hospital after an electrical accident Wednesday.
The lineman was injured while working in Clay County Wednesday morning and was taken to the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. He was later transported to the Joseph M. Still Burn Center in Brandon for observation. He is alert and conscious and was taken to the burn center as a precaution.
4-County CEO/General Manager Joe Cade said the cooperativeâ€™s focus is on the injured lineman.

Griffith Robert Jones peacefully passed away at home in his sleep Tuesday, June 14, 2011.
Funeral services are Saturday, June 25, 2011, at 10 a.m. at the Episcopal Church of the Resurrection of Starkville. Interment will follow the service in the Columbarium Niche at the Episcopal Church of the Resurrection.
Visitation is Friday, June 24, 2011, between 5-7 p.m. at Welch Funeral Home.
