A New Arrival
Katelyn Reese Lewis
Mickey and Katie Lewis of West Point, Miss., are proud to announce the birth of their daughter, Katelyn Reese Lewis. She was born April 7, 2011, at 1:21 p.m. at OCH Regional Medical Center of Starkville, Miss. She weighed 7 pounds 8 ounces and was 20 inches long.
Maternal grandparents are Randy and JoAnn Simmons of West Point, Miss.
Paternal grandparents are David and Jane Lewis of Sulligent, Ala., and the late Pamela Lewis.
Alesky Honored with Bridal Shower
Kyleen Alisky, bride-elect of Jake Littlefield, was recently honored with a miscellaneous bridal shower at the home of Allen and Jessi Flynt. Hostesses were, jessi Flynt, Barbara Thompson and Judy Littlefield. Guest enjoyed homemade buttermilk biscuits with meats, cheeses and jellies. Shrimp covered pineapples decorated the tables. A variety of desserts were served. Guests played the Newlywed Game and were awarded prizes.
Guido Turns 90
Maxine Guido celebrated her 90th birthday with a dinner hosted by family and friends Saturday, May 7, at 5 p.m. Guido was born May 5, 1921. Her family hopes she had a very happy birthday.

Williams, Duncan Engagement
Joe and Kathy Williams of West Point, Miss., are pleased to announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Kimberly Lashe' Williams to William Todd Duncan, son of Tommy Duncan of West Point, Miss., and Trina Duncan.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Gorden and Betty Williams of Thomastown, Miss., and Ralph and Ann Coggins of West Point, Miss.
She is a 2009 graduate of West Point High School, and is a 2010 graduate of East Mississippi Community College as a Certified Nursing Assistant.
Whitten, Manning Engagement
Mr. and Mrs. Joe Phillip Whitten of Pontotoc, Miss., are pleased to announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Joanna Vashti Whitten to Davis Morgan Manning, son of Mr. and Mrs. Basil Keith Manning of Cedar Bluff, Miss.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Paul Lyons, and Mrs. Johnnie Whitten of Tupelo, Miss., and the late Mr. Joe Brooks Whitten.
Hollis M. Pendley
Hollis M. Pendley, age 92, passed away Thursday, May 5, 2011, at his home in West Point, Miss.
Hollis M. Pendley was born Nov. 21, 1918, in Lynn, Ala., to the late Clearcie King and Daniel Arthur Pendley, Sr. He was a General Agent for the C & G Railway for 32 years and was an active member of First United Methodist Church. Mr. Pendley was a Veteran of the U. S. Army as the rank of a Sargeant during WW II. Hollis M. Pendley married Geonette Harrison Pendley Nov. 2, 1940, at the Mt. Vernon Baptist Church Parsonage.
Judgement involving a 2006 dog chasing incident at Penny Pinchers of West Point was given to Penny Pinchers April 26 after the Mississippi Court of Appeals found the dog was not a threat to customers at the store.
JACKSON, Miss. (AP) — The Mississippi Supreme Court has scheduled arguments for May 11 in an appeal from Vanessa Decker, who is seeking to overturn her 2008 conviction for exploiting her own mother.
Last September, the state Court of Appeals upheld Decker's four-year suspended sentence and four years' probation. The Supreme Court later agreed to hear the appeal.
Decker was convicted in Clay County of felony exploitation of a vulnerable adult for taking $4,120 from her mother's bank account between November 2005 and April 2007.
