Nine Qualify For County Races Before Deadline

Nine people filled out their qualifying paperwork Tuesday on the final day of qualifying for Clay County offices, including a current West Point Selectman and a former mayoral candidate. Tuesday's rush brought the total number of people qualifying in Clay County to 42.
Three more candidates, Suzette White, Melissa Bobo Calvert and Harold Lathon, qualified Tuesday to run for chancery clerk. Others who qualified Tuesday are Clay County residents Chad McComic and current Ward 3 Selectman Charles Collins, both of whom qualified to run for supervisor, district 4.
