Starkville doubles up West Point

STARKVILLE - West Point's boys and girls basketball teams were handed losses for the second time this season by the Yellowjackets.

The girls lost 59-45, snapping a three game winning streak while the Wave lost their second in a row, 82-45.

Elizabeth Lawshe Miller

Elizabeth Lawshe Miller, age 89, passed away Friday, Dec. 2, 2011, at North Mississippi Medical Center in West Point. Elizabeth Lawshe Miller was born March 12, 1922, in Water Valley, to the late Robert Burnie and Nina Edgar Lawshe. After graduating from Water Valley High School and Mississippi State College for Women, she taught home economics at Hickory Flat High School and later served as Home Demonstration Agent in Clay County for the Mississippi Extension Service.
