Oak Hill doubles up Winston

December 10, 2011

Oak Hill’s Lady Raiders didn’t hold Winston to under 20-points Friday night, but they came close.
Nonetheless, a 67-32 win over the Lady Patriots moved them to 2-0 in the district as they continue their quest for a third straight district title.
After scoring 23-points in the opening quarter, Oak Hill (11-3) never trailed in the ball game and by half time had a comfortable 41-14 lead.

West Point girls snap losing skid

December 10, 2011

On any given night, you can find Wilma Davis scoring at least 10-points, most nights its a little more.
Friday, the senior finished with 15 to help stop a three-game losing streak following a 68-51 win over Aberdeen.
Head coach Murray Woody said her confidence has been a little shaken lately, but that hasn’t stopped her leading the team in scoring every night.
“I keep telling her, ‘keep shooting, because shooters go through slumps’,” he said.
If her 15-points was a slump, it was enough to help West Point (5-5) get their first victory in almost two weeks.
