KOSCIUSKO – First year head girls basketball coach Murray Woody is pleased with his 2-2 record so far season. After playing their fourth game in eight days Saturday, the girls notched another victory, 57-45 over Kosciusko.
Woody talked about before the game how important it was for the girls to execute, they did that early and often. Each team had a dozen in the slow paced first quarter, but with the Lady Whippets playing in zone, Woody quickly pulled them out to build up a lead.
Allen, Wooten Engagement
Judge and Mrs. Thomas Wilsford Allen, of Lyon, Miss., are pleased to announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Martha Elizabeth Allen, to Matthew Evans Wooten, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robley Evans Wooten Jr., of West Point, Miss.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Harry Isaac Clark and the late Mr. and Mrs. Coleman Maddox Allen.
Bramlett, Baker Engagement
Terri Barksdale of Caledonia, and Lonnie Bramlett of West Point, are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Alicia Joyce Bramlett, to William Baker, son of Stephen and Angela Baker of Mantee.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Stanley and Elizabeth Bramlett of West Point, and Lois Johnson of Columbus, and the late Doris Atkins.
She is a 2009 graduate of West Point High School, and is continuing her education at Vaughn's Beauty School and East Mississippi Community College.

Larry Gene Britt, age 56, of Lenoir City, Tenn., passed away Saturday, Nov. 12, 2011, at his home.
