With the 2011 season just days away, West Point’s boys and girls basketball teams had their first real taste of competition on Saturday when they traveled to Ripley for a preseason jamboree.
It was a chance for both coaches to really see what they had, and both were very impressed.
“I was proud of their effort, they have a lot of heart and character,” girls head basketball coach Murray Woody said. “It took a us a little time to get into a rhythm, but once we settled down and ran the stuff we’ve been practicing and executed, we did a lot better.”
