Lady Raiders hand Hebron second loss of the week

August 13, 2010

For the second time this week, the Lady Raiders of Oak Hill got up a few runs on the Hebron Lady Eagle softball team and did not relinquish that lead.
The Lady Raiders downed Hebron 6-4 on Thursday afternoon.
“We played a better ball game than we played on Tuesday,” Bratton said. “They played hard, and they battled all the way and didn’t give up.”
In Monday night’s game, Hebron got down 4-0 in the first and could not recover, despite a three-run third.
Thursday’s rematch, a game that was added to the schedule on Wednesday, looked to be a pitcher’s duel starting out.

Two major actions highlighted Tuesday night's meeting of West Point's Mayor and Selectmen.
Near the end of the two-hour meeting, the board went into executive session to discuss personnel matters, where the board majority attempted to overturn a veto by Mayor Scott Ross that reinstated Electric Department Superintendent Dwight Prisock and City Administrator Randy Jones.
Prisock and Jones were fired by the board at its regular July meeting, by a vote of 3-2 with selectmen Homer Cannon, Jasper Pittman and Charles Collins voting for the duo's dismissals.

The Lady Raiders made the trip out to Hebron, but the short drive did not have any lasting affects, as they downed the Lady Eagles 8-3 in the end.
In the first inning, it looked like Hebron starter Beverly Blake was going to escape trouble. Two Lady Raiders were on, but there were two outs in the inning.
