Last season, the Heritage Academy Patriots looked quite intimidating out of the gates. However, down the stretch, the team experienced nine straight losses to negate a 3-0 start.
The Oak Hill Academy Raiders are going to try to make it 10 consecutive loses on Friday night, and they will be trying to avenge an opening week loss to Heritage in 2009.
That loss was 47-14, and it set the tone for an 0-4 start for the Raiders.
The Patriots are going to be attempting a winning start, with a pretty formidable roster, which sports a little under 30 players.

Coach Marion Bratton’s girls played like an altogether different team than they did in their August 5 match at Carroll, when they lost 0-10.

Tuesday afternoon was one of those times when the community comes together to celebrate a common interest.
The community pep rally for the local football teams had its divisions, mainly between Oak Hill and West Point supporters, but everyone in attendance agreed that this town is ready for football again.
West Point’s team, cheerleaders and marching band were all on hand in front of a very large crowd to be recognized prior to Friday night’s game against Shannon.
