Mamie Allen and Hunter Coleman had put in a solid four innings as pitcher and catcher, respectively, for the Oak Hill Academy Diamond Raiders (9-8; 0-3) on Tuesday afternoon.
Due up back-to-back in the bottom of the fourth, they knew two runs would end the game, and both batters reached base to set up the final two scores in a 12-0 victory over the Diamond Patriots of Heritage Academy.
The Lady Raiders were coming off of a hard 4-2 loss at Manchester on Monday, which saw a 2-0 seventh inning lead slip away.

The Diamond Eagles of Hebron Christian School continued their domination of the region on Monday night, with an 18-2 win over Central Academy.
For the last two weeks, Hebron has been on an offensive surge that has been coupled with good defense and excellent pitching.
Central was able to hold the Lady Eagles to minimal damage for the first four innings, but in the fifth, Hebron exploded.
âIt really took us a while to adjust to the pitching,â said Hebron head coach Cass Tapley. âWe didnât have any Kâs in the game but just couldnât do anything with the ball for a while.â
Itâs a new week for the Oak Hill Academy Raiders, who are coming off a week one 28-14 loss to the Heritage Academy Patriots.
Friday nightâs game came down to which team could get the big plays, and it was Heritage that took advantage of a couple of defensive miscues by the Raiders for a pair of touchdowns.
The Raider offense could not get free as many big runs as the Patriots did, and they were left two touchdowns in the hole when the buzzer ended the game.
FULTON â ICC will open its 2010 soccer season with heavy hearts on Saturday against perennial power Jones County Junior College as they honor the memory of fallen teammate Anna McCoy.
âWe are still feeling the sting from losing Anna,â said ICC soccer coach Mike Sullivan. âWe have her in our thoughts all the time when we are out there. We are looking forward to celebrating her memory and hopefully have a good game in her honor.â
Standing near midfield at Daytona Beachâs re-furbished Municipal Stadium, Mainland High School linebacker Mike Swillicote and his teammates marveled at the stadiumâs new artificial turf surface.
âI canât wait to get out here and play football on this stuff,â Swillicote said at the turfâs unveiling two weeks, to which his teammates quickly agreed.

Helping children grow and reach their full potential was the purpose of the West Point Fire Departmentâs and Lummus Rodeo Productionâs Annual Benefit Rodeo for the Junior Auxiliary of West Point held last Friday and Saturday.
More than 1,500 spectators came out to enjoy two nights of bareback riding, calf roping, games, food and fun. The fire department and Lummus Rodeo Productions raised $4,500 for the Junior Auxiliary, $500 more than last year.

Culin Arts owner Valeda Carmichael and Le Cordon Bleu graduate and chef Matthew Molina have teamed up to create Palate Panache, a cooking school slated to open in October for beginners to those who just want to try something new. Work on the school has already began and will be located next to Culin Arts.
Hundreds of thousands of dollars are being put back into the city of West Point by allowing Tombigbee River Valley Water Management District to repair the bridge on Highway 50, money that may be used for other street projects.

West Point High Schoolâs football game at Columbus high, scheduled for Sept. 3, has been canceled according to Steve Montgomery, Superintendent of West Point schools.
The cancellation stems from an issue with the MHSAA and the addition of a game against Mainland Fla., which takes place this Friday. In April, West Point officials applied for permission to add Mainland to the scheduled, giving West Point 12 regular season games, which is one over the allowed number of 11.
