Five games are down for the West Point Green Wave (4-1; 1-0), and there are six more to go in the 2010 regular season.
The first half of the season has been eventful, to say the least, for head coach Chris Chambless, his staff and his players.
For many teams, it’s easy to cast off the first few games of the season as less important than the latter half. After all, conference play usually doesn’t come around until about week four or five.
That’s not the case for the 2010 Green Wave. That’s not the case at all.

The Oak Hill Academy Raiders (2-4; 1-0) are hoping the flu bug is going to be long gone by the time they take the field tonight, at home, against another set of Raiders from Lamar Academy (3-2).
Tonight’s non-league battle will feature two teams looking to extend two-game winning streaks to three.
Lamar is coming off a pair of wins against Heritage and Canton. The latter one was a 48-13 blowout of the Panthers.
Coach Mac Barnes’ team will come in, featuring a roster that has a good bit more depth than Oak Hill’s.

A month ago, the Hebron Christian Eagles (1-4) got their first and only win of the 2010 season.
That victory, which came at West Memphis Christian, is sandwiched between four losses, the last of which coming, at home, to Oak Hill.
Tonight, the Eagles are hoping the elements will work in their favor, as they try get back in the win column.
