The merger between Cadence and Trustmark banks was "the best strategy and opportunity for all of our stakeholders," the Cadence's CEO said tonight.

The best may be yet to come for the Hebron Christian School Diamond Eagles (21-9; 8-0). That’s hard to believe considering the season they have had thus far.
Today they appear in the standings with just nine losses. Each one of those, hard fought games against tough non-conference opponents.
In the conference, which boasts competition like Kemper, Winona, Calhoun and Central, the Lady Raiders are unbeaten, and they will go into the post-season unbeaten in district play.
They played their final district match last week at Calhoun, ending the conference season with a 19-0 win.
West Point kids are about to be enjoying America’s new sport in soccer. They are also going to be hitting the gridiron pretty soon, as peewee football and youth soccer began practicing this week in a season set to start at the first of October.
That being said, the West Point Parks and Recreation Department has a number of big things happening, some as soon as this weekend, and others throughout the the 2010-2011 school year.
The most pertinent is this weekend’s USSSA baseball tournament that will take place at the sportsplex this Saturday.

For 14 of the girls listed on the Hebron Christian Eagles softball roster this season, there will be at least one more year of high school fast pitch.
For seven girls, one third of the entire team, tomorrow night’s game against Winston will be their final regular season match. The upcoming playoffs will give them a reprieve, but eventually, these seven girls will play their last out for Hebron.
