Entire weekend turns out to be a success

August 31, 2010

I’ve had some exciting weekends in my life. I can remember going on some pretty memorable college road trips, great family vacations and even some recent vacations that were pretty fun filled.
None of those road trips, however, compare with the the 72-plus hours that passed last weekend.
The West Point Green Wave were scheduled to play their biggest regular season road game in years in Daytona Beach Fla. Friday night, and there was no way I was going to miss that.

Flemming leads Hebron past Lady Cougars

Last week’s loss to Starkville Academy snapped a four-game win streak for the Lady Eagles of Hebron Christian School. The 9-4 beating by the Lady Vols did not get Hebron down for too long though.
Last Thursday, Calhoun Academy came to town for a visit, and it was a short one. The Lady Eagles got back into the win column with a 17-1 victory over the Lady Cougars.
“I thought we played well,” said Hebron head coach Cass Tapley. “With 14 hits and seven of them being for extra bases, we seem to be swinging the bat hard.”
