After almost five years of planning for streets in the West Point city limits to be repaired, work finally began Wednesday at Lone Oak Park, just one of several streets to be repaired by Falcon Contracting over the next few weeks.

Brookhaven quarterback Duwone Harris took matters into his own hands last Friday night, as he and the Panthers defeated then undefeated West Jones to win the South 5A championship game.
Harris accounted for 363 yards of offense between his scrambles and perhaps his most effective throwing game of the season. The swift senior will likely be Brookhaven’s top weapon in Saturday night’s state championship match against the West Point Green Wave.

The Hebron Christian Eagles have given Starkville Christian a pair of losses so far this season.
Coming off the Thanksgiving break on Monday, Hebron traveled to Starkville and a 59-32 win.
Tonight, the Eagles will be back at home, taking on the Central Academy Vikings.
The Eagles have been led so far this season by senior Carlton Clay, who scored 26 points in the win on Monday night.
Tonight’s match against Central will start after the varsity girls game, which will begin at 6 p.m.

The Hebron Christian Lady Eagles have played nine games so far in the early portion of the 2010-2011 regular season, and so far, no one has been able to beat them.
On Monday night, the girls returned to the court for the first time since Thanksgiving, traveling to Starkville to take on Starkville Christian for the second time this season.
The Lady Eagles opened the season against that opponent with a decisive win, and last night, they replicated that with a 65-20 victory.
Tonight, the Lady Eagles look to take down the Lady Vikings of Central Academy.

The Oak Hill Academy Lady Raiders will be looking to pick up where they left off when they finished before the Thanksgiving break last week when they face Calhoun on the road tonight.
On Tuesday, the Lady Raiders capped off the first part of the season with a 54-28 win over Marshall.
Tonight’s game will begin at 6 p.m. following the junior varsity girls and boys games.

Tonight, the Oak Hill Academy Raiders will be back on the court, taking the show on the road to Calhoun Academy to play for the first time since Tuesday of last week.
On that Monday, the Raiders lost a heartbreaker to Starkville, in overtime. It marked their second consecutive overtime loss.
Tonight, they Raiders are looking to start a winning streak in the brief period before the Christmas Holidays.
The Raiders will begin play after the varsity girls game.
