The West Point Parks and Recreation Department kicked off its Peewee Football season on Tuesday night. Despite cloudy skies and a strong chance of rain, the bad weather held off for the four teams that went head-to-head.
“The rain held out,” said Parks assistant director Jarrod McDaniel. “It was a little damp, but it just settled the dust down.”
At 5:45, Sherman Berry’s team took the field against Leon Kelley’s crew. Berry’s team defeated their opponent 26-0.
An hour later, Will Ketchum’s team defeated Tim White’s bunch 20-6.
